Sultan (
@soundsofsultan ) is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter based in Berlin. Hailing from Karachi, Pakistan, he has been playing tabla for over 10 years under the guidance of Ustad Khursheed Hussain and Yousuf Kerai.
Handong Ryu (
@handong.ryu ) is a Berlin-based musician from Seoul, South Korea. In addition to his work as a guitarist and singer-songwriter, he has been studying Northern Indian classical music and sitar since 2017, under the tutelage of German sitarist Sebastian Dreyer. He has participated in classes and workshops of Pandit Partha Chatterjee, Pandit Kushal Das and Ayan Sengupta.
Urmimala (
@archetypicalurmimala ) has been trained in vocal music, specializing in Rabindra Sangeet and Indian classical music since childhood. She completed her diploma in Rabindra Sangeet in 2013 from Dakshinee, a renowned institution in Kolkata, and continues to learn under her Guru, Shri Rano Guhathakurta.
At Rang Mehal Sultan, Handong Ryu and Urmimala will perform a selection of classical pieces and Rabindra Sangeet, songs of Rabindranath Tagore.
