It’s so interesting being a transplant. Loving people, activities, and the earths offerings of boardn’ and grounding activities in more than one place. Kinda like the rest of my work and art life, I am all over the place at times. I guess we call it ADD these days. At times it’s dizzying, hard to feel in super in tune, but life sure is full and I’m thankful for the connectivity ✌🏼

Some fun in the sun the other day with a buuunch of homies! With lack of snow this year I’ve found myself back in the park more than usual. Had these two on my mind for a while 🎨
Bugling Bull ~ As soon as I saw @zchayes photo of this elk I knew I wanted to use it as a reference to paint. With the green light from fellow hunter and shredder it eventually came to life and turned out a little psychedelic.
Chickadees ~ I’ve always loved seeing these lil birds out in the woods. I see them lots but my favorite time to is when out shredding on a stormy powder day. I recently read “The Tracker” by Tom Brown Jr. and in it he wrote about how they are one of the only species of birds out seemingly playing in the snow storms. Thought it fitting cuz I love storm boardn’ and it gave me the desire to paint a couple of em.
The backgrounds in this case and often come from leftover paint of other sessions. Then I eventually get the idea for what I want to paint over whatever color scheme came to exist.

💀 Dead head is one I found last archery season here in Colorado. Super cool tines on this broken off older bull elk.
Another sweet September ending with…
Tag soup blues, amazing elk encounters, some deer sightings, time well spent with loved ones, star filled skies, sun rises and sets, storms endured at 10,000 feet, hard earned hunting lessons, time alone in the mountains, and the last walk of the ditch this year.

Acceptance of the fullness of life is my lesson lately. Things have been tough, yet there is still the beauty of every day. I don’t always know what I’m doing, trying to understand all the thoughts and feelings we humans have around relationships, life choices, death. I wrestle with trying to get it just right, while there already is what is. Struggles with beauty, beauty with struggles, balanced, is life.
This is a highlight of the past week. A new experience on Oahu with friends of old and new. Enjoying, relaxing, going with the flow, getting humbled in the oceans waves, all while seeing other parts of life, harder parts, from a distance. New clarity awakes slowly. Clarity doesn’t mean certainty about what will happen next. Mystery embraced with faith that what comes of it is for the best. I enjoyed a new experience while wondering if other parts of life will ever be the same. They will not, how could they. Changes keep coming, even within ourselves daily. A Thanksgiving plate enjoyed in an airport chair alone beside kind strangers could be seen as sad, but it was a beautiful experience to me.
Croatia Part One: Sailing 🇭🇷
We kicked off our time in Croatia with a week living on a sailboat! We made our way from Trogir up into the Kornati National Park. It was an incredible experience and a very cool way to see this beautiful country. 🤠
Biggest shoutout to @taytayy360 for being our captain! I think it’s safe to say that @alittlebitof_pixiedust , @hand_pressed and I are all professional sailors now. Fala! ⛵️
