THE CEREMONY 🤍
Our ummas began the ceremony by walking in hand-in-hand.. a perfect reflection of our relationship. Their unwavering love and support have shaped us and helped build the strong relationship we have today..
One of the most touching moments was when our niece ran straight to David without any hesitation.. such a sweet, tiny glimpse of what we hope for one day as future parents 🥺
As I walked down the aisle with my dad, my eyes were locked on David. I was SO ready to say “I do” in front of the people who mean the world to us. When we finally reached the front, my dad hugged David, then suddenly wiped away his tears.. a moment that surprised all of us.. making us laugh through our tears 🥲
Our ceremony was officiated by @zanetakim , who is truly like a sister to me. We’ve both always looked up to her, and there was never a doubt in my mind that she’d be the one to marry us.
During my speech, I honored not just David, but also my grandma.. the woman who raised me like her own daughter. She wasn’t able to be there physically, but during the entire ceremony, a frog was croaking nonstop. I couldn’t help but feel it was her, letting me know she was with us in spirit…
Apparently, a few guests couldn’t hear David’s vows because he was sniffling the whole time 🤣 .. but I heard every word.. and felt it all so deeply 🥹
