[Fashioning Science]: Reciprocal Processes for Fashion based on Topology-Bauhaus 본 전시는 한국과 영국을 기반으로 활동하는 신소재 및 인공지능(AI) 분야 전문가들과의 학제적 연구를 토대로 기획되었다. 점이라는 최소 단위에서 출발해 선, 면, 입체로 확장되는 바우하우스의 조형 언어를 기반으로, 형태의 지속적인 변형 속에서도 본질적인 구조적 관계가 유지되는 토폴로지 네트워크(Topology Network)의 과학적 개념을 접목한다. 토폴로지(Topology)에서 점은 고정된 기하학적 요소가 아닌, 관계 맺음의 출발점으로 기능하며, 이 점들의 연결과 변형 과정을 통해 형태는 연속적으로 생성되고 재구성된다. 특히 토폴로지의 핵심 개념인 연결성(connectivity)과 연속성(continuity)은 형태의 구조적 질서를 설명하는 개념으로서, 패션의 형태, 구조, 제작 과정 전반을 관통하는 이론적 틀로 작동한다. 본 전시는 이러한 토폴로지적 사고를 통해 형태의 완결성보다 변형의 과정과 관계적 구조에 주목하며, 과학과 디자인, 물질과 비물질, 이론과 실천 사이의 경계를 재사유한다. 바우하우스와 토폴로지의 접점을 따라 패션을 고정된 결과물이 아닌, 동시대 과학기술 담론 속에서 끊임없이 생성·변형되는 상호작용적 과정(Reciprocal Process)으로 제시하는 실험적 시도이다. This exhibition emerges from interdisciplinary research developed through collaborations with specialists in advanced materials and artificial intelligence (AI) across Korea and UK. Drawing on the Bauhaus formal language that develops from point to line, plane, and volume, the exhibition incorporates scientific concepts from topology networks, where structural relationships remain intact through continuous transformation. The core topological concepts of connectivity and continuity thus serve as a theoretical framework for fashion’s form, structure, and production processes. By emphasising transformation and relational structures over fixed form, the exhibition reconsiders the boundaries between science and design, material and immaterial, theory and practice.
