Introducing Hanwen Wang!! ( @han.wen.wang )
Hanwen Wang’s paintings emerge from fleeting moments when perception becomes unusually vivid. Through color, surface, and spatial tension, she keeps these moments open, allowing them to unfold within the painting.

✨ Another unforgettable day for our Hoffbergers! ✨
Second year student Hanwen Wang @han.wen.wang had the pleasure of welcoming curator Marcela Guerrero for an engaging conversation on contemporary art, exhibition-making, and the evolving role of institutions.
Guerrero, curator of the 2026 Whitney Biennial, is known for championing Latinx artists and expanding narratives within major museum collections. Her work has played a vital role in reshaping how histories are presented and who gets included, foregrounding care, visibility, and a critical rethinking of the canon.
In conversation with students, the discussion moved through questions of representation, responsibility, and how curatorial practice can actively shape the conditions through which art is seen and understood. It was an invaluable opportunity to think through the relationship between artists, institutions, and audiences today.
We’re deeply grateful for her time, insight, and the thoughtful space she created for dialogue and exchange.

A Moment: The sun is like the soft-boiled egg I had this morning;
looking toward the sea-like hillside,
it becomes leaping waves and drunken flowers spinning in circles.
