It explores generational trauma, healing, and questions our obsession with nostalgia: especially in the age of social media. Through home videos, poetry, and rap verses, we’re trying to create something raw and emotional.

Some stills from Better Days (2026) 🫶🏽 shot digital, converted to real VHS tapes, then rescanned back. This process was done to capture the film’s fixation on distorted memory, false nostalgia and our collective idolisation of the past to avoid the present. This process was also done in tribute to the works of Bill Gunn, Harmony Korine and Stephen Dwoskin.
VCR conversion was done in collaboration with AnalogNoise and Andrew C. Goldeman, with l circuit bending by Danny Seymour.

in the film “better days”, all the narration is composed of poems i wrote during and after a depressive episode. the film, as much as it’s a documentary, is also a kind of visual book, compiling the poems and pairing them with archival material. the film itself features only eight of the 40+ poems i wrote during those months. so many that almost made the film were left on the cutting-room floor.
on this page, along with the regular promo, i’ll occasionally post poems that aren’t in the film but were created during the same period and carry the same spirit.
this was one of my favourites.
