I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to be a 2024 Remember the Removal bike rider. My life has forever been changed by this journey ❤️
I have learned so much in such little time about our language, heritage and removal itself. Each stop we visited was truly remarkable and I’m thankful to have the chance to soak up as much knowledge possible at these places.
The emotional and physical challenges on the ride pushed me outside of my comfort zone and left me with a newfound appreciation for our ancestors perseverance. Even the toughest of days can’t come close to what they endured when they were forced from the homelands.
“Wadosgi” to everyone who supported me and my teammates. It was such a privilege to know that I had so many friends and family waiting on our return in Oklahoma, which is something our ancestors did not get to look forward to.
It is because of their resilience, we stand stronger than ever to this day.
