Back on January 15th teen student interns hosted our annual Fashion + Beauty Insiders and Constructive Creations panel discussions during National Mentoring Month. 2 panels. 1 night. Events coordinated and executed by teens for teens. Both rooms were full of teens eager to learn about various careers in fashion, beauty, construction, and public art. We LOVED creating a spave for professional development and career exploration for teens. Seeing them engaged and networking with peers and local professionals brought us so much joy! If you are someone in one of the above mentioned industries, have public speaking experience chatting it up with youth and committed to sharing your expertise with the next generation of leaders, comment "me." We will start planning for the Jan 2027 panel in Q3. We are excited to announce the 2026 Regional Qualifier of the Scripps National Spelling Bee! Since 1925, children across America have participated in classroom, school and regional spelling bees with the hope of making it to the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The winner goes to Nationals in Washington DC where the competition will be broadcast live on ESPN! The @albanytroylionsclub is joining forces with The RED Bookshelf to host the Regional competition again this year. Students from all over will visit Albany to compete. This year, we worked directly with local schools like Giffen elementary and more, to make sure that our local spellers were involved and had the opportunity to compete. Send us a message if you'd like to donate, volunteer or help spread the word. We want each speller to see an audience of people who are there to root for them and encourage them.
