Odin is a sweetheart with a curious little soul and a deep love for toys. 🧡🐾

This handsome boy is about 3 1/2 years old, and he likes to take in the world around him. He really loves to go on walks, taking notice of whatever interesting thing is happening nearby. Toy time is one of his favorite parts of the day, and tug is one of his favorite ways to play.

Odin has a nice mix of independence and affection. He isn’t the type to demand attention every second, but he does like being near his people and being included. He knows how to sit, is crate-trained, likes car rides, and will happily accept payment in beef sticks.

He can be strong when he first gets going on leash, but he has shown that with steady practice, he can settle into a nicer rhythm. He’s curious and polite with new people, and he has done well meeting children. Cats are not Odin’s crowd, but if you have a dog at home, bring them along so we can help everyone get acquainted.

Odin doesn’t ask for the spotlight. He just wants someone to notice the sweet, steady guy underneath. Come spend a little time with him at HSHC.

She’s 9 years old, 42 pounds, and has the kind of sweet little face that makes you want to tell her she’s the best girl every time you walk by. Sheila loves treats, stuffed toys, and Benny Bones, and she still has a playful little spark that makes her even cuter.

Sheila would love a quieter home where she can enjoy her people without too much commotion. She walks nicely on leash and still lights up for a little playtime, but she’s not looking for a busy social life. She’d be happiest with someone who appreciates her sweet older-gal ways and gives her the love she deserves.

She has lived with other dogs before and might enjoy a gentle dog buddy after a proper meet and greet at the shelter. We’ll officially cat-test Sheila here so we can better assess, but she has been known to give chase in the past, so kitty friends would need careful consideration. More than anything, this sweet girl is ready to be someone’s beloved companion.

This striking, 3-year-old cat for adoption has been through a lot, coming to our shelter as a stray, but despite the constant change in her environment, this sweet girl has continued to approach every day with a brave face and an open heart. 💗

He’s wiggly, friendly, and still loves the good stuff: comfy beds, fun toys, treats, and people who tell him he’s a very good boy. Max is also working on losing a few pounds, which feels relatable. Snacks happen. We move forward.

Max came in with some dog buddies and has lived with other pups before, so he’d be happy to meet any dog friends you have at home. Cats aren’t really his thing, so he’s looking for a cat-free home. What Max really wants is pretty simple: a soft place to rest, people who love him, and a home where he can enjoy being someone’s good boy.

They've been through the ups and downs of life side by side, and even reached HSHC superstardom as featured pets at this year's Wine, Wags & Whiskers event.

These old pals have been cooped up in our shelter for so long, it's starting to look like Harper may be plotting our demise. But don't let those eyes fool you! Underneath that glare is a heart of gold with so much love left to share. Plenelope and Harper are longing to make their little duo a trio. Hi, it’s Stacy, HSHC’s Adoption Programs Manager. I need to tell you about Leo.

He’s 10 years old, and today he spent the day in my office being so sweet, so polite, and so easy to love that I haven’t stopped thinking about him. This was my first time really getting to know Leo, and he made it pretty easy to fall for him. He played with a stuffie, posed for adorable photos, munched his snacks like a gentleman, and soaked up every bit of attention I gave him.

A few coworkers he’d never met before came in throughout the day just to sit with him, and Leo acted like each one was his long-lost best friend. He accepted pets, rolled over for belly rubs, and greeted everyone with the cutest full-body wiggle. He really seemed to love having visitors.

He was such a good office buddy, too. He hung out while I worked, kept me company, and even watched me eat a snack without trying to help himself. He also kept his office manners intact and didn’t have any accidents while he was with me. Truly, 10/10 coworker. Did not answer emails, but nobody’s perfect.

Leo spent his whole life with one family. When things changed in a way no one saw coming, they had to make the tough choice to bring him to us. Leo’s best fit is a home with kids 7 and up, no cats, and if you have another dog, we’ll do a meet-and-greet here to make sure everyone feels good about it.

I know 10-year-old dogs sometimes get overlooked. People see the age and keep scrolling, but please don’t scroll past Leo. He spent 10 years being someone’s dog, and I don’t want his next chapter to start in a kennel. I want it to start with someone seeing what I saw today and saying, “Come on, Leo. Let’s go home.”
