Mayor Wamp shared Hamilton County’s conservation story with hundreds of people at the Tennessee Environmental Network’s Show of the South Conference today.
Hamilton County is proving that environmental stewardship and economic growth can go hand in hand.
One example is the 2,100 acres at McDonald Farm in the northern part of Hamilton County. What was once slated for industrial development is now being preserved as the future basecamp for the Cumberland Trail and Tennessee’s 70th state park — an iconic asset that reflects our community’s shared commitment to being good stewards of land.
Hamilton County could not function without the dedication of our first responders.
This morning, Hamilton County EMS, in partnership with Blood Assurance and Erlanger Health System, announced a new prehospital whole blood program that allows HCEMS crews to administer blood to critically injured trauma patients before they reach the hospital. 🩸
As only one of a very few EMS agencies in Tennessee to launch this program, we are leading the way in lifesaving emergency care.

A great day for East Side Elementary and the surrounding community. 💚⚽️🛝
County Mayor Wamp joined Principal Wilkey, students, families, and community partners to cut the ribbon on the new community schoolyard at East Side Elementary.
More than just a playground, this new space will serve as a community hub where students can learn and play during the school day and families and neighbors can gather long after the final bell rings.
Thank you to the Trust for Public Land and our partners for investing in East Side and making this project possible.

The Hamilton County Commission unanimously approved the sale of the Business Development Center on Chattanooga’s Northshore—paving the way for a brand-new, modern incubator adjacent to the Franklin-Roberts Future Ready Center, creating new opportunities for students and startups alike.
Dr. Le Andrea Ware called the vision “a lifeline for students” as the county works to connect education with real-world experience.
Plus, Mayor Wamp’s State of the County is set for May 19, and graduation season begins across Hamilton County Schools. 🎓
