We’re proud to unveil our Culture 26; Made in Halton film, starring Waterloo Road actress and Halton local Alicia Forde, filmed across the borough – it’s a celebration of all things cultural!
Because culture doesn’t have borders, it has bridges. It’s home grown, shaped by our voices, our stories, our makers and creators. It’s our art, our music, our literature, our accent - the old towns and the new. Where science meets imagination and where local ideas reach the world!
Culture isn’t just in Halton, it is Made in Halton and we’re all part of it.

🖼️ Step inside the real story of #fostering at #WidnesLibrary. Halton fostering families are opening a window into their lives this May (and during #FosterCareFortnight) through "Fostering Moments". A powerful, deeply personal exhibition, featuring photographs, artwork and poetry from foster carers and care-experienced children, that captures the everyday joys, challenges and connections that define fostering.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in launching ‘Winds of Change’ a New Street mural yesterday. Created by artist Tony Mallon @mallon_art and shaped by the people of Halton, through memories, relatives, their words and emotions.
This is art by and for the people of Halton, and so it was only fitting that families and groups from across Halton joined the celebrations. Halton Day Services Samba Band set the beat while Halton sporting legends inspired new fans. And singer songwriter Lee Wylding closed out the celebrations with a song inspired by the people and history of Halton.
If you want to see ‘Winds of Change’ visit New Street, Widnes (between the Range and Boots)

📖 We're celebrating and saying a heartfelt thank you to our library workers on #NationalLibraryWorkersDay.

🛍️ Last week @widnesmarket held their 2026 Student Trading day with it being the most successful yet! Welcoming a record number of participating students and delivering an exceptional showcase of young entrepreneurial talents.
🧑🎓 140 students from @riverside_coll and @crontoncoll operated 38 fledgling businesses, selling a diverse range of products and services with three awards being presented in recognition of outstanding performance. These were best marketing, best products and best overall stall.
A donation of £183 was also made to Halton Haven Hospice, money raised by all student businesses on the day which had been pooled together.
Preparations will soon begin for Student Trading Day 2027!!
