I'm so incredibly pumped for this show. I'm so pumped guys. However pumped you think I am for this show, or however pumped you may be, I am more pumped. This is so cool.
Pigpen LOVES My Wife's An Angel, not even from an inspirational standpoint, they're just really, really cool. I'm very much looking forward to playing with them alongside @dotgovment and @tumors.band on Sunday, May 10th at Baba Yaga. I hope to see y'all there. Tickets in bio.
Pigpen doesn't play covers. In fact, not once have they ever played a note someone else has played before, not even ourselves. We invent brand new notes for every song. But I love singing covers, I love singing other people's music more than my own. It's easier!
There's a part in our song Lineage, the part you're hearing now, where I never really wrote lyrics. Whenever we play it live, I'll start singing another song for fun, because the rest of the band can't stop me at that point. Here's a list of all the replacement songs I remember singing during a Pigpen show:
Mclusky - Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues (shoutout @baptationn , who also enjoy covering this song)
Anthers - Mabel
underscores - geez louise
Glassjaw - Siberian Kiss
billy woods - Asylum
Death Spa - Cracked Egg
Black Eyes - Deformative
I think I might've done Dead Cowboy by Lightning Bolt at one point

Pigpen's new album, Cloth Mother, came out a couple days ago. It has gotten glowing reviews such as "one-note" and "obtuse" but no matter! We're all extraordinarily proud of what we put together, and we'd love for you to check it out. The link to it is in my bio right now, and you can buy it for zero dollars! The artwork was made with love by our bassist's son.
I cannot thank @outsidenoise444 enough for their positively lovely accomodations. This was an incredible few days that I hope to never forget. Everything went better than I could've hoped for, and I am so incredibly grateful for the time I got to spend in Philadelphia. E-L-G-S-E-S!
1. Kalen, Carrie, and Rylee (ft. Babka licking me. She literally would not stop licking me every chance she got.)
2. The first bank in the United States.
3. Someone named John Barry. I was disappointed his name wasn't just Barry.
4. The Liberty Bell, pictured from the sidewalk through a window so we didn't have to pay to see it.
5. Great Falls KILLING IT. (They shouted me out by name before the last song!! I love you guys!!)
6. Primitive Man KILLING IT.
7. Everything on that counter is made of chocolate.
8. The Ritz-Carlton. I do not celebrate Christmas and never will, but walking around City Center with like 100 little pop-up shops trying to sell you ornaments and candy and the like, it's probably the closest I've ever come to experiencing "Christmas cheer" in my little jaded heart.
9. Santa, apparently threatening to end it all.
10. Babka.
There it is, in the top left. Life's Harvest is out now!
It will be on (almost) all streaming services this Friday, but I didn't realize until recently that November 7th is also Bandcamp Friday. Releasing it on Bandcamp Friday would make people think that I really want them to buy my music, when the truth is they really don't need to. I'm not trying to make money off of this, I just want people to listen to it. Then they should DM me privately to tell me how much they hate it. So it's out now on Bandcamp!
Thank you to @9earth9angel9 for her vocal contributions, my great friend Shye for her production magic on one song, and the legendary @nudeconsumer for their noise on the final song. But you should still direct all your hate mail to me. <3
Update: @death.spa and @haltingmachine to stand in for Vanished and Black Tar.
Tearing up Bayside in Everett with the homies on December 12th! Let’s get that convergence zone pit spinnin’.
Hey gang! My set at Scream Pool last night went swimmingly, as did the entire event. Thank you very much to @impact.seattle for inviting me. I just uploaded my set to Bandcamp. I hope I get to do this more often. Some recordings are ones I can't access, some are lost to time, but if I find a Halting set recording that sounds decent enough, I'll be sure to upload it.
By the way, I recently took my music off of streaming services as I decided how to handle the whole thing I've been talking in my stories. I've decided to reupload my music to streaming services /except/ for Spotify. That's something I just can't justify. My solo music never got anything from Spotify anyway, and at this point, it's just not a good idea if you're a solo "indie musician" like myself. So my upcoming album, Life's Harvest (as well as all previous major projects) will be on streaming services except for Spotify. All the loosie stuff, like this live set, will remain on Bandcamp. Thanks!
I'm in a good mood, so let me take the time to promote what I'll be doing in the next couple weeks. On Saturday 10/25 I'll be playing at Kremwerk at the "Scream Pool" event, being hosted by the very gracious @impact.seattle who I appreciate very much. Next Saturday on November 1st, @pigpen_pnw will be joining @lilith.sea on their tour kickoff! Thank you so much to lilith. for asking us to play! You'll be hearing some brand new Pigpen songs too ;)
See you soon!
Alright, let's do this.
The new Halting album, Life's Harvest, will be available on November 7th. I'll probably do physical copies, just not right now. It will be on streaming services, except for Spotify.
This album was made on my worst days, when I was mad at myself, the people around me, and the world. I've put myself in a strange position, as I've written some truly awful lyrics in this album, and then I sit there with a smile on my face, gleefully talking about my inspirations. It's bizarre. I don't know how to function in this world and I feel like I'm constantly falling apart. Here you go. Link in bio.
