From a recent encounter with a fairy. Rarely will a lacewing allow me to get close, much less so handle them. This regal individual seemed to have no issue spending time with me.
This is some member of the family Chrysopidae. Members of the genera Chrysopa and Chrysoperla are so similar that species have been reassigned between the two multiple times.
Keeled treehopper, Entylia carinata, found on a sunflower in my back yard. Most planthoppers I see try to hide when I go for a picture, but these ladies ladies didn't seem to mind.
I had wait for about 20 minutes for this tiny bee, Ceratina calcarata, to return to its nest. Very quick and timid, but the vibrant green and goofy white nose was worth the wait.
