The Heavy Music is a journey through tone, texture, and time. Mike Tamburo creates a 65-minute exploration of metal, recorded live in one take. From delicate twinkles to roaring pulses and deep, beating waves, each piece carries its own heaviness and its own movement within a larger story. Collectively, the instruments used on The Heavy Music weigh 1,694 pounds—and emotionally, the hope is that the weight of the music is felt deeply by the listener.
Here, tone and time meet expression and emotion, guiding the listener inward to their heaviest places. The shimmer of rod chimes, the surging power of gongs, and the nuanced spaces between them form a complete, unified vision.
