In Kwale County especially around Diani they form one of the last remaining strongholds of the Angolan colobus in the country, as they have disappeared from many other regions. They are highly arboreal, rarely coming to the ground, and play an important ecological role by dispersing seeds, helping maintain healthy coastal forests.
