For 16 years, I have been a cosmetology educator.
I have taught hundreds of students the art of makeup but more than that, I’ve watched people discover who they are. I’ve seen confidence ignite. I’ve watched passion turn into purpose. I’ve witnessed artists step into their power.
Teaching has shaped me. It’s woven into who I am.
If you were ever in my classroom, please know, I loved you like my own. I believed in you deeply. And I still think of you often. Every single one of you left a mark on my soul.
But life shifts.
As many of you know, I’m a mom to two incredible boys. One of my sons has Down syndrome, and this coming year he transitions into junior high - a huge step for him. And for me.
Right now, my children need all of me.
So I’ve made the very hard decision to step away from teaching. Not forever but for now.
I’ll be returning fully to where this all began…. self-employed, brush in hand, creating on faces, building beauty, and structuring my work around being present at home when I’m needed most.
This decision was not easy. Teaching is ingrained in my soul. But motherhood is too.
I am endlessly grateful for every student, every lesson, every face I’ve painted, every opportunity I’ve been given.
This isn’t an ending.
It’s a refocus.
It’s alignment.
It’s choosing presence.

After almost 15 years as a cosmetology instructor, I’ve had the absolute privilege of educating so many talented students—and learning just as much from them. Earlier this year, I found out the school I was with would no longer be offering my program, shifting their focus to healthcare. Although they offered me a new role (and I was so grateful to stay with my amazing team), I realized something important:

The best part of my job has always been getting to know my students, helping them unlock their talent, and watching them grow. That’s my passion. So when the opportunity came to step away from what was comfortable and leap into something new, I decided to jump.
✨ I’m thrilled to announce that I’m joining **Eastern Esthetics** to launch their **brand new, dual-licensed Makeup Artistry and Lash Enhancements Program**—the only one of its kind in Nova Scotia! I couldn’t be more excited for this next adventure, and to continue doing what I love most.
