When I was managing #ShawnDesman he wanted to perform “Lean on Me” with a choir for his #WeDay performance in Halifax. For me there was no question - I reached out to the youth choir in North Preston. (There was some resistance from the We Day producers which has contributed to why The House exists today but that’s another story for another day.)
THIS was one of my first full circle moments. Bringing my community down home together with my team and work I was doing in the industry.
Fast forward to 2025 ⏩ @haliey.smith took center stage at the Maidie Music House launch a few weeks ago. Her sister @reenysmith did too. BOTH were in that choir harmonizing behind Shawn, none of us imagining then, that it would lead to this moment today. ⚡️

Sometimes the background vocals you’re supporting today become the lead vocals you’re celebrating tomorrow. 🎙️ 💐 What started as shared stages and harmonizing voices became mentorship, management, and moments like this. ✨
Some connections are destined. Some journeys are meant to intersect. Some artists are family before they’re roster additions.🫶🏽
This is the power of community that grows together. This is what happens when you invest in community and community invests back in you.
Welcome to the House. 🖤✨

Our presence changes rooms. Always has. Always will.⚡️
From the icons who paved the way to the collective power we carry today – we don’t just enter spaces, we transform them. We don’t just take seats, we claim tables.
Innovative by nature. Influential by design. Unapologetic by choice.
This is who we are. This is what we carry. 👑
When we show up, we show up as daughters of legends, as carriers of culture, as architects of change. From the legends who broke barriers to the legends we’re building today – this is the lineage. This is the House.
We stand on the shoulders of giants, and we lift as we rise. ✨
Welcome to the House. 🖤
