Before our wedding season kicks off next week, I thought I’d do a little reintroduction. (read: I have new photos of myself that I like)
I’m Anita, owner of Half Light Events.
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. I’m a physician specializing in geriatrics. My work has always centered around people, especially their stories, their families, and the moments that matter most.
Half Light Events grew from that same instinct. We plan and design celebrations that feel deeply personal to you and your guests can feel it.
My approach is equal parts thoughtful design and steady execution. I’m especially drawn to multi-day and multicultural celebrations layered with tradition and meaning.
Our guiding principles:
– guest experience as much as aesthetics
– thoughtful details over excess
– honoring tradition while making space for what feels true to you
If you’re planning something meaningful and want it to feel elevated without losing its soul, you’re in the right place.
Let’s make something unforgettable.
Two years without you physically here. Not a single day without me hearing your voice in my head, giving me advice and laughing with me. I’m so lucky to know you so well that I know exactly what you’d say and how you’d say it. Lately you’ve been visiting me in my dreams and we’ve had long, vivid conversations. Please keep visiting because I need you. I love you. I miss you.
PS- I know you hate the first few photos and I’m sorry I’m sharing them with the world, but you got hot so it’s fine.
I’m a daughter of immigrants.
My husband is the son of immigrants.
Our kids are brown, with the most Spanish last name you’ve ever seen.
And none of that is why I’m outraged.
I’m outraged because no one should be afraid to go to school.
Or to work.
Or to the hospital.
Or to exist.
Half Light is known for celebrating multicultural stories, families, traditions, and histories layered with meaning.
It should go without saying where we stand.
But we’re saying it anyway, because voices matter.
We do not support the current administration.
We do not support ICE.
This isn’t politics.
It’s just reality.
Human dignity shouldn’t be conditional. Safety shouldn’t depend on paperwork. Belonging shouldn’t be something that can be revoked.
We stand for people being able to live, work, learn, heal, and celebrate without fear.
Pretty ideas don’t run on time by themselves.
Good taste doesn’t manage vendors.
Luckily, we do both.
