Words can't describe what this man and his incredible voice meant to my childhood. The depth and warmth he gave to his characters meant he could make you cry over an animated lion, or fear a masked villain.
What's not often spoken about is his great comedic timing. The first role I actually saw him in was Coming to America as King Jaffe Joffer where even though he was on screen with arguably one of the greatest comics of all time, he still managed to steal the scene with his commanding presence.
A true legend. He will be missed.

Such incredibly sad news that the absolutely legendary @annie.nightingale has passed today.
She gave us one of our first ever Cutline mixes on @bbcradio1 14 years ago and was a great supporter of our music. Even in her 80s she was still looking out for that new sound to champion. She will be sorely missed.
