Day 17 - Tyler Bingham @halfcirclethreelines
Tyler Bingham is a self taught mixed media artist. Although originally from Utah, he has been in Portland, OR for the past 10 years. He produces abstract works, portraits of live subjects, and has painted a mirror study every month since 2022. His work is vibrant, expressive, and fueled by play and exploration.
1. What/Who do you consider as your community?
The people I see more frequently in my day to day life. Folks that go to my gym, my neighbors, and the artists that also work out of the building my studio is in. It is also the people I communicate with online. Friends and family who live long distances from me that maintain close contact, and the friends I've made on social media.
2. What kind of world are you building?
I am working to build a world where play is encouraged and boldness is always rewarded. A world that is soft and kind, with plenty of space to dance.
3. What does "prosperity" and/or "growth" mean to you?
Growth makes me think of houseplants and houseplants make me think of pots. A mantra I repeat often is "be thankful for the room to grow". Prosperity would be the continuous sizing up of pots as growth continues.
