Kumeu House: Product Focus – Dark Art Trimless
The Dark Art Trimless range features a unique click in/click out module system for both ease of installation and maintenance. The trimless housings are also able to be linked together to create bespoke groupings and layouts unique to each environment.
Halcyon’s Dark Art Trimless range sets the bar for high-end luxury downlights with CRI97+ ultra low glare modules for rich and saturated colours, all at a realistic price point.
Trimless lighting elevates a home by creating a clean, minimal, yet luxurious aesthetic. In this project the Dark Art trimless tube spots in Black look particularly good contrasted against the textured off white ceiling. By grouping them in pairs it exaggerates the spaciousness of the high stud ceilings and declutters the ceiling space.
Good lighting design is hard to achieve, it’s all about placement, balance and restraint. Too much light and a space can feel washed out, not enough light and it can feel moody and uncomfortable. This home strikes the perfect balance with a combination of dramatic highlights and functional fill lighting.

Kumeu House: Product focus – Track lighting
Designed by the multi-talented @jarussellltd lighting solutions team in conjunction with Halcyon, this high-end project features our standard 3 circuit track and S215/S216 track spots in the main living areas.
Track lighting is a highly versatile and effective lighting solution, able to be easily tweaked and changed as the surrounding environment evolves. Track lighting is a popular choice for modern kitchens with the linear minimalist design perfectly complementing large islands and rectangular spaces.
In this project our standard 3 circuit track has been recessed into the ceiling to sit flush with the GIB, it’s a subtle trick which requires co-ordination between electricians, builders and plasterers. The additional work required is well worth it with the end result speaking for itself.

We are excited to announce that we have begun construction of a cutting edge 3500m2 facility based in East Tamaki, Auckland.
Scheduled for completion towards the end of 2022 our new home will have a large 10m stud warehouse with capacity for up to 4500 pallets, flash multi-level showrooms and dedicated high-tech assembly, product development and R&D spaces.
Our current Auckland premises have served us well for the last 20 years but we have very much outgrown the space so it is time to move on to bigger and better things. Here's to the next chapter in the Halcyon story.
