As one chapter closes, a lifetime of memories remain 💛 After more than a decade at the Halberg Games, this year marked Sionann Murphy's final time competing and what a journey it's been! From an 9-year-old discovering she wasn't alone, to becoming a leader, mentor, and role model within the Halberg whānau, Sionann's story is one of growth, resilience, and belonging. Through friendships, challenges, unforgettable moments, and a deep love for sport, the Halberg Games have helped shape not only the athlete she is today, but the person too. Her message is simple but powerful: give everything a go, back yourself, and embrace every moment. Because the Halberg Games are so much more than sport, they're a place to belong 🌟 Thank you Sionann, for everything you've given to the Games. Your impact will be felt for years to come! It was great to partner with the Cambridge Cycle Festival to support their development of an Adaptive Roll to this event which has been running for 10 years. The Adaptive Roll was an opportunity for young people to participate in this event their way ❤️💛🖤 There were Trikes, Wheelchairs, Bikes and support people on the course in what was applauded by whānau as a great initiative to create a more inclusive experience that some of these young people may not have considered in the past 👏 The biggest success for Halberg was the many moments of joy these young people had and showcased when eating a sausage with their peers and other young people at the event as well as seeing the smiles on their faces and those supporting along the course when the Adaptive Roll took off. 🚴‍♀️ We will definitely be back in 2027 to support this kaupapa and whānau wanting to take part. Will you join too?

Her journey is a powerful reminder that the Games are about more than competition...they're about connection, confidence, and creating lifelong memories. 🌟 Tap the link to read Trinity's story and see how the Halberg Games continue to bring families together through sport - https://halberg.co.nz/a-family-affair-as-trinity-takes-on-the-halberg-games/
