You might be wondering what a “Halal Pop-Up” actually is. And that is a fair question. Think of it as a huge indoor market filled with independent brands, street food, desserts, modest fashion, skincare, handmade products, Islamic gifts, children’s businesses and more; all in one space. Some people come to shop, others come for the food, while some stay for hours just walking around discovering new businesses they’d never heard of before. And no, it’s not just for Muslims. Everyone is welcome to visit The Even Bigger Halal Pop-Up This August, we’re bringing over 100 small businesses to Unit 8, Copeland Park in Peckham for a two day event designed around community, creativity and supporting independent brands. It's been a whole month since we organised The Pre-Ramadan Halal Pop-Up and we are still buzzing from it! Despite the heavy rain and poor weather that day, the Balham community still turned up in thousands to come and support; alhamdulilah The children were so excited for their free meet and greet with Omar and Hana, enjoying the free bouncy castle provided by @bounce_haven and getting their face painted by @quirky_funny_faces Some of the adults also received gifts courtesy of @ink.sketcher (personalised calligraphy) and @simplysakoon (all purpose fragrance spray). Thank you for your generous gifts. Also a special thank you to @noorahgifts for sponsoring a gift to the stallholder with the best set up. The winner of this was @shakiracrochets Thank you to everyone that brought in their preloved abayas and thobes to donate to @smile_projectug and also your donations to @yaseenyouthtours and @brixtonmosque With over 70+ amazing businesses in attendance, there was something for everyone to enjoy and we pray that Allah continues to put barakah in every single one of these businesses ameen Our mission has and will always be to uplift and support growing businesses. I often think about the people I wouldn’t have met if I didn’t do this whole book gig. How it would be such a loss to me, because there really are the most beautiful people out there. Once in a while, you meet those who you can visibly tell are dear to Allah. On Sunday @halal_pop_up event I got to meet one of those people. This is 11 year old Ibrahim who came over to me and offered to share his sweets with me. He reassured me that they weren’t like sweets I’d had before, they were the best and he wanted me to have one. Soon after Ibrahim shared stories with me which he had heard from talks by Omar Sulaiman. He then told me about the countless blessing of Ramadan and backed them up with hadiths. He even told me about the gates of jannah and that if you fast the month of Ramadan, you will enter through the gate of Ar-Rayyan. It didn’t take me long to figure out that Ibrahim was autistic, and soon after his mother came over to confirm this too. I tell you what, this kid was so special! And so I gave him one of my journals as a gift, because it is upon each of us to look after the children in our community and reassure them that we look out for one another. To teach this child that the elders in his community have his back. Ibrahim asked me to sign his journal and so I did; ‘To Ibrahim, may you shine like the stars of jannah.’ He in turn responded with: ‘No Auntie, may YOU shine like the stars of Jannatul Firdous.’ Ya Rabbi protect our children from all harm. Grant them Imaan and good health. Make them amongst those who please you the most. Allow them to live on the path of siratul mustaqeem. Bless them with mercy, guidance and hidayah. Ya Rabbi allow them to be a sadaqah jaariyah for us for generations to come. Allahuma ameen #ramadan2026

Standing behind my stall these past two weeks, seeing people connect with my work for the first time, and gaining new memories I will never forget, has meant more to me than what I can put into words.
