my pretty late submission for @hal_monitor 's dtiys. woohoo I love loser furry characters!! I realized towards the end of drawing this that if I drew it differently I could've better implied the canadian cig warnings on the filter (I noticed the canadian packaging in the comic >:) )

my (extremely late) entry for @hal_monitor 's DTIYS! I wanted to make a proper poem on the side, but the silly ones ended up being my favourite. I've included a little assortment though, along with some progress pics. I also ended up being too sick to complete my full vision, so pretend the smoke, leaves, and/or eyes are animated. materials are various paper and magazine scraps, pencil crayons, ink, and acrylic marker

We're really excited to be adding a way to repair your items to our swap events! This is an opportunity to extend the life of clothing and household items rather than throwing them out and buying new ones. And also a chance to learn some new skills yourself! How does the Repair Station work? 🛠 Our repair station is a drop-in spot run by dedicated community volunteers from @thearushacentre and @sewproudyyc with a variety of skills. ⚙️🧵 You can bring mechanical and electrical items (e.g. lamps, radios, toasters, small wooden/metal items etc) or clothing/bags/fabric to the repair station. We cannot guarantee that all items can be fixed, or that we will have time to get to every item, but our volunteers will do their best! (Tools and supplies will be available) 🚲 There will also be a bike repair station outside - weather permitting! 🔍 Please first sign-in at the repair station front table, and then either learn alongside a skilled volunteer for no cost, or drop an item off to be repaired for a nominal fee. We will do our best to get to everyone, but it will depend on demand! 🪡 SewProud YYC will also be selling sewing project kits if you wanna develop your skills further. ☆~Pansy Club Queer Swap & Guidelines~☆ Our Pansy Club Queer Swap is coming up soon! But you may be wondering - how does it work? 🤔 🏵 Early donations can be dropped off at Bell's Cafe from March 1st - 20th. Donations can be dropped off at the Sunalta Hub during the day of the swap from 11am-4pm. We are accepting all kinds of donations, not just clothing! 🛍 Accepted donations include: all sizes of clothing (especially plus size!), accessories, reusable bags, shoes, jewelry, makeup (new or disinfected), gender-affirming gear (binders, packers, breast forms, wigs, etc). Shoes, socks, undergarments, lingerie and sleepwear will only be accepted if they are new or unused. 🪴 We will also be accepting arts & crafts supplies, books, games, plants + pots, decorations, physical media, and more! Please just ask us if you're uncertain. 🚫 Do NOT bring: appliances, delicate glassware, utensils/cookware, bed linens, pillows, or towels. Use your best judgement. 🧼 All items must be clean and in good condition! Dirty or broken items will not be accepted. 🔁 This is a free event to all! But we encourage attendees to "swap" - try and bring donations if you plan to take something. 👜 We will try to have bags for attendees, but please bring your own in case we run out. 📚 The High Queerdness Radical Library will also be running a local zine swap!! Bring your zines to swap with fellow zinesters, or make a brand new one then and there at the Lavender Club queer crafts zone. 🔥 Buddy Burners YYC will also be in attendance and taking donations such as: wax, cardboard, tin cans (small cat food/tuna cans), and candle wicks.
