baby tansy was born on the living room floor
𓅭⋆˙⟡ on oct 6th, at 1:55pm — a full harvest moon
the day itself felt like pure magic. pdx was showing off her fall colors, the sun was shining, and the air was crisp yet warm.
i got the text at 1:45pm.
bree had told me that morning she felt like “today would be the day,” and if things went anything like last time (i captured the birth of their second bb back in january 2024), the third baby pine would arrive earthside by evening.
well… i was at the gym, drenched in sweat + mid-workout when i got the text: “hey. it’s about time.” we knew tansy would come that day, but not *that* quickly. ahh.
i have never moved so fast — sprinting out of the gym, grabbing my gear, changing out of sweaty clothes (just to re-sweat through them again), loading film at stoplights, and breathing thru the adrenaline as i drove across town.
when i parked out front, i had a feeling baby tansy had just arrived. there was a stillness to the air — a palpable, quiet magic. i walked in to find the 3 of them all quietly curled up in awe.
bree said tansy was just *so excited* to get here… and she was right. i began photographing the rest of the afternoon: tansy’s first breaths, their siblings coming home early from school, speechless and glowing. they sang happy birthday, blew out a candle, and took turns holding them… tracing their tiny eyes, nose, lips — marveling at how soft n small they were.
being invited to witness and document these moments, again and again, is *why* i do what i do. there’s nothing like creating within a birth space: it’s raw, it’s pure… it’s so wildly charged.

when discussing the vision for our shoot, these two expressed that they were inspired by the viral hong kong pre-wedding photos by vietnamese photographer vu thuy khue.
building off that general concept and completely making it our own, we got to spend the day hitting all their fav spots in pdx, making photos that feel wildly authentic and very “them.”
this was so much fun, thanks for trusting in me to capture you two in such an iconic way.

the sweetest surprise engagement session for
hunter + patrick in malibu, right along PCH 🕊️
hunter and i grew up orbiting the same circles, staying in touch after high school through the music scene + art over the years.
last fall, i got a sweet email from her soon to be fiancé, which said verbatim: “hunters always said that when the day comes, she wants you to be the one to capture the moment.” 😭
after lots of coordinating + scheming - and only a few days before christmas - he proposed at one of their favorite lil pull offs along PCH, a place full of meaning for them both. i hid (literally in a bush lmao), waiting for the big moment and capturing all the big feels that unfolded.
it was truly such an honor to capture something this intimate and special. i love love! and getting to be apart of such full circle moments is something i’ll never take for granted.
