Honest truth? I don’t say “no” to much. 😏 I believe every single human spirit has a story regardless of what “niche” it falls into. The messy, the beautiful, the in-between - I am your girl. Families who can’t get everyone to look at the same time? I got you. The couple who says “we’re not really photo people”? Oh, we’re doing this. Seniors ready for this chapter? Let’s commemorate it. Business owners who’ve been putting this off forever? Today’s the day, babe! Extended families, branding, your business — yes, yes, and yes I’m here to make you forget you were ever nervous about it. My approach is like we’ve been friends forever! Let me be the one to finally get that photoshoot done for you! 🤎 XO H

..these felt like a lost roll of film someone found in a glove compartment in 1994 and developed 30 years later, and also how I remember 80-90s films, the imperfect lighting, rawness of the moment, exposed feelings. I’ll be here for awhile. @reverie_workshop at home experience Every week I’m blown away by the talent in this community 🤍 This loop is filled with photographers who pour so much heart into their work, each bringing a unique perspective. When I look at these images now, and even in retrospect when I was walking them through the process of the moments.. I feel these portray the true essence of a relationship. A yearning, vulnerability, misunderstanding and then understanding to a deeper level.. the feeling of need and desire, and this feeling of safety within the presence of each other.

Girl. If he asks you to go on a “vacation” to Croatia, you better go - might be getting proposed to 🫣😆 - by the photographer you told him you liked! What an honor to photograph a beautiful sunset and sunrise shoot with these two. Ironically - I lost my own wedding ring hours before the proposal while swimming in the Adriatic Sea. Going to try to pretend that was romantic 😆

“How do you get men [couples] to do that.” To be vulnerable and guards down without it being weird. The honest answer is, I don’t. My “talent” is that I don’t make it awkward and I listen to their words, energy and gently guide them into just focusing on each other. [I stop making it about me, as many of us photographers can get in our own way.] I listen to how they talk to each other. I watch where his hands naturally want to go, I notice when she relaxes into him and I quietly create enough space that they forget I’m there. Comments during sessions have been made “I haven’t kissed you this much in a long time” or them recognizing that staring at each other and those gentle touches have been placed on back burner because of work, life and kids, etc.. So for an hour, I remind them of the simple things that create intimacy. It’s called art therapy in my mind - because I believe sometimes traditional therapy doesn’t work for some - but maybe the intimate silence, touching and photographs could heal as well. This week I would like to share another artist with camera with you ~~> @carolenaphotography
