To my Non-Armenian dearest of friends; there’s a reason why I have always been so crazy about Armenia. It wasn't always for fun or fascination, but because every Armenian has grown up with the awareness that Armenia’s independence is not a given, and our existence as a people is increasingly fragile. The Armenian Genocide never ended, there has been no justice for my family, no recognition of the crime and consequences for the perpetrators, making the genocide active in its final stages. The Armenian Genocide in the abstract is the active systematic depopulation and erasure of Armenian Indigenousness from their homeland. The Republic of Armenia that exists today is not even 15% of the historically inhabited Armenian homeland. And today, the war for Artsakh is the next chapter in the greater Turkic attempt to remove us from our mountains.
Today, my language of Western Armenian is considered endangered, and I can not return to the towns that my grandparents were exiled from in Turkey. This is the reality of the Artsakh Armenian’s future. They will no longer exist in their lands, their history rewritten, their cultural heritage erased, and from 15% we will be down to 10% of Armenians living on their historical lands.
Y’all know how much I care about this, you know im hurting everyday, and if there was ever a time to show your “Armenian friend Haig” some love and support for all the good memories we have together and friendships we developed, I am calling on you today to support me, and my peoples cause for justice.

All just because I ripped my pants”
