I am honoured to have participated as a Juror for this year’s International Emmy Awards competition and I’m deeply inspired by the excellent content being produced globally.
The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences celebrates excellence in television programming across varied content genres with the prestigious Emmy® Award and it’s a huge pleasure to contribute to selecting the best in television programming from around the world.
Being a voice (and a decision maker) in a process that matters on such a global scale is one that I don’t take for granted.
Thank you, @iemmys .
To Producers who continually raise the bar for excellence in storytelling and production values, globally - I celebrate US!😊

Last week, I had the pleasure of spending meaningful time at the iRep International Documentary Film Festival, which opened with a thoughtfully curated Filmmaking Workshop.
During the workshop, I led a session on Storytelling & Platforms: A Producer’s Blueprint. The conversation centered on the evolving role of the producer in today’s dynamic media landscape.
It was an honour to be introduced by Mr Femi Odugbemi, whose legacy continues to shape and inspire generations of storytellers. I remain deeply grateful for mentors like him whose guidance, generosity, and belief create pathways for others to rise.
One idea I was particularly intentional about sharing is this:
Storytelling is both a creative and entrepreneurial task.
Storytelling today sits at the intersection of creativity and enterprise. To build work that endures, we must engage both with equal rigor.
For producers, the responsibility now extends far beyond churning out content. It calls for a clear understanding of audience psychology, strategic platform alignment, distribution ecosystems, and more critically, a disciplined approach to recoupment and long-term value creation.
I’m appreciative of the iRep team for creating a space where vital conversations that elevate the craft and business of storytelling can thrive.

A table read is when the actor first breathes life into a character.
It’s an essential step in pre-production that I look forward to.
Sometimes during casting, you’re a bit unsure how some actors will feed off each other and how the characters will vibe.
But God be praised - we got this one right! Such decent and uber-talented actors.✨👌🏽
Witnessing the positive energy, the collaborative spirit and the character chemistry at this session gave me great hopes for the shoot, which has now translated to the full 3-part movie.

They say you never really forget your first.
Yesterday, I was at Eko Hotel for a recce.
A recce, in production language, is a pre-production activity where you visit a location to determine its suitability or to figure out how to make it work.
Eko Hotel always brings back good memories for me.
It is where I first worked as part of a live broadcast TV crew in 2014 - the AMVCAs.
It was also at Eko Hotel that I earned my first TV screen credit as Producer of a live broadcast in 2016. The 3-hour live broadcast of the AMVCAs Red Carpet.
I’ve had many of such Producer credits on TV live broadcast since then.
➡️The Headies in Lagos (with Livespot, for HipTV)
➡️Trace Awards in Rwanda (with Freshly Minced for Trace TV)
➡️The Big Brother Finale Show (with MNet)
➡️A few more AMVCAs…and so many other brilliant shows.
But still, that first AMVCAs screen credit in 2016 will always be special to me.
What special place holds dear memories to you in your career?
Let’s chat.
P.S - I have an upcoming live broadcast next month. If you’re an emerging media professional who would like to experience the thrill of live broadcast, DM me for details. I have 2 slots for paid internship.
