After 10-ish years we thought it’s only right to come back around with our second album – and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We called it Eigelstein Hi-Teck. It's a collage of all our inspirations and favourite samples we always wanted to use: from jungle and grime, to NYC and Berlin rap, and from UK funky to french house, ballroom and RnB. Throw in some anime soundtracks, cheesy 80s action flicks, and you may end up with these 11 gritty little songs. Most of these ideas and tracks were produced over the course of the last three, pandemic-stricken years. That said: there are a few tracks on here that (essentially) have been in our folders for over a decade, then got accidentally rediscovered and flipped in completely new ways. Isn’t that just the best feeling? Rediscovering and working with a sample that you just couldn’t get right, no matter what – and all of a sudden, it all comes together, years after the fact? But first and foremost, this album is a document of how much fun we have hanging out in the studio together. And, as always, a bow to the incredible music heritage of Chicago, which we’re deeply indebted to. This album will be digital only (for now) and 3D-print wizard Guillermo Heinze helped us greatly to envision our idea of a truly Eigelstein Hi-Teck-ish USB-stick. Thanks for taking this trip with us. Hello :) been a bit off the digital grid so far this year cozied up in my favorite room listening to slow jams, chopping those up with a longsword while frying eggs on my computer and generally taking things mellow. But this year also marks a certain personal anniversary I’m very happy about and slightly astounded by: since 25 years I’m now officially playing all sorts of weird, funky music I like to people I mostly don’t know. Slide for quick math estimate that shows I must’ve listened to at least a 100 million kickdrums in all those years which makes this all the more crazy. So to celebrate this special occasion here’s your friendly public announcement: @nikity.mp3 and I will be in Berlin over the weekend playing our @hoer.berlin debut and doing other assorted shenanigans. Expect all sorts of weird, funky music that was part of those last 25 years. If you‘re in town: say hello and swing by. 💋🪩💋

How you been? Comin’ to ya from the bus bench of life. ’Tis the season of making charts yet again - it DID all go really fast this year, right?! So without breaking traditions: here are my annual end-of-the-year vinyl charts for the good folks from @hhvrecords (thx to @wattenwatten ) Lots of great records this year but those in here turned out to be my favorites: From Japanese Techno-Pop, blissful Kosmische Musik and 80s boogie gems over modern zouk from Berlin, private press Deutschrap heat, improvised/experimental jazz and that good ol’ house music to possibly the most beautiful serial killer dance soundtrack ever made. My top 1 also has a bit of a back-story: Beyond the fact that this record is a really interesting piece of German G.I.-disco/rap - the recording @funkscapes used for the repress came from one of those copies I dug out after a gig in Kassel somewhat 8-9 years ago. Really happy to see this personal fave/find of mine having a second spin around the sun 💝 Just saying: 6 days ’til Xmas … so if you’re still in need for presents please find these here records as helpful recommendation for the passionate music head :)))) XOXO H 💋
