[ha-koy] • noun A synthesis of three states: Happiness, Comfort, and Joy. Stronger than a feeling. Happiness is a state of well-being that most individuals strive for. Comfort is the safest place we know. It comes in many forms. The comfort that comes from within is the one we seek the most. Joy is limitless, life-defining, transformative feeling waiting to be tapped into. It requires the utmost surrender and, like love, is a choice to be made.

Someone once told me that I’m so comfortable with myself, that it helps them feel comfortable. This is exactly what I want my brand to replicate. During my time studying Brand Management at Polimoda in Florence and working in the fashion industry, I realized how much is going wrong. The dishonesty was everywhere. I saw clients being lied to about quality. I saw toxic work environments where creativity was crushed by speed. And most painfully, I saw how nature was being suffocated by the sheer excess of a rapid, thoughtless system. The industry was producing more than anyone needed, faster than the planet could handle, all for a fleeting moment of newness. I didn’t want to be part of that machine. I wanted to build the antidote. That’s why I founded HACOY. To create comfortable elegance. Clothing that brings you peace, not stress. To build a company where ethics is not a marketing slide, but the foundation. To slow down, treat people with respect, and design pieces that honor the resources they are made from.
