The convictions of Amanullah Khan (23) and Zeeshan Hussain (24) come after a rigorous investigation by the Met’s Central East BCU, supported by evidence from the Shomrim (the Jewish community’s volunteer safety patrol).
The court heard how the incident unfolded in the Stamford Hill area—home to one of the largest Orthodox Jewish communities in Europe—during a period of heightened communal tensions.
The Confrontation: The victim, a Jewish man in his 30s wearing traditional religious clothing, was walking home when he was approached by Khan and Hussain in a vehicle.
The pair began shouting antisemitic slurs and threats. Witnesses reported that the men "accosted" the victim, with one of them exiting the car to physically intimidate him while continuing a "vile and hateful" verbal tirade.
Crucial CCTV footage and "Shomrim" dashcam video captured the vehicle's license plate and the audible antisemitic nature of the abuse, making the "hate crime" element of the prosecution undeniable.
