Today, on World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we stand in solidarity with survivors and those still trapped in exploitation.
Human trafficking is a hidden crime that destroys lives. Asylum seekers and migrants are especially at risk, often targeted by traffickers when they are most vulnerable. Creating safe and legal asylum routes is essential to reducing the risk of trafficking for those seeking a better future.
At Hackney Migrant Centre, we provide free legal advice to help people regularise their status and understand their rights. By supporting people to navigate the legal system, we reduce the risk of them being forced into dangerous situations or targeted by those seeking to take advantage of their circumstances.
