Sad news guys, Kermit (aka “Big Kerm”, aka the Panther) passed away this last weekend. About a year and month from his twin brother Theodore Roosevelt’s passing. Seth Larson brought the two brothers to the farm 13 years ago, this marks an end of an era at Habitable Spaces! A couple of weeks ago, WTAMU Art Program had the pleasure of hosting visiting artists Alison and Shane Heinemeier from Kingsbury, TX. These two are successful Art Handlers ( @kingsburymuseumcrates ), artists, and owners of non-profit @habitablespaces

Teaming up with @habitablespaces for a farm-to-table Full Moon Supper Club. We roped in Red Rock Land and Cattle to supply the brisket and ground beef for this Bavarian Texas Smokehouse dinner. We asked rancher Randall Lynch 3 questions:
1. This ranch has been in your family for four generations. What’s something about this land or way of ranching that’s been passed down, not written down?
My father always stressed that you have to be a good steward of the land. If you take care of the land the land will take care of you.
2. You chose to sell beef directly to your local community instead of sending it into the national supply chain. What changed for you during Covid, and why did you decide to stay local?
We saw the empty shelves at the grocery store and saw the community demand for beef. We decided that we could provide a better quality product to our local community for a reasonable price.
3. When someone buys a whole or half cow from you, what kind of relationship are you hoping to build with them?
We want to build a long term relationship. Repeat business is the majority of our annual sales. A repeat customer provides us the positive feedback that we're doing it right!
