For months before our trip I spent hours at my computer researching location that would make suitable foreground images for our Astro photography photographs. I came upon the old silver mine town (Shafter) which once had several thousand residents. The last census said it now has 11 residents.
As we explored the old town we noted several signs posted by (Tidewater and Big Bend Foundation). This foundation is in the process of restoring many of the old ruins, and dilapidated structures. It's very awesome to see, and can't wait for the next visit to see the additional work. Bravo! If you happen to ever visit this place Respect it! Don't touch Nothing!
The first image is Sagrado Corazon de Jesus (Sacred Heart) Catholic Mission Church which is a Catholic Church built in 1890. A sign near the entrance displays that they still hold mass in this church once a month.

While scouting locations for Milky Way photographs we spotted some Aoudad/Barbary Sheep scaling a mountain side.
