Here’s what you actually need to know before doing a Hyrox ⬇️
1. Pace yourself from the start
Don’t sprint the first run. Stay controlled and build up into the race.
2. Practise your transitions
Practise moving straight from runs into exercises. The switch is key.
3. Build grip strength and endurance
Farmer’s carries, sleds and lunges will test you. Don’t neglect the grip.
4. Run under fatigue
Add 30 minute runs before or after workouts so your body adapts to race conditions.
5. Practise full race simulations
Combine stations and runs in one session to mirror the real thing.
6. Master the sled push and pull
This is where races are made or lost. Focus on technique and leg drive.
7. Find your sustainable run pace
You’ll run 8 times. Pick a pace you can repeat, not just survive.
8. Fuel and hydrate properly
Eat well at least 2.5 hours before the race and stay hydrated so your energy doesn’t dip.
9. Work on efficient movement, not just speed
Smooth, controlled reps will save more energy than rushing.
10. Stay mentally locked in
Break the race into sections and focus on one station at a time. No distractions.
