At 3am this morning I had the great idea to START looking through old work for no reason. As I started working my way through folders filled with random albums I haven't seriously looked at for years, I found myself reflecting on my last 10 years in ATL as creative. Yeah there have been ups and plenty of downs but I love this city. This city has been good to me. This city is... This city is different...
Instagram hasn't been a photo app for well over 5 years now but I wanted to use this lil bit of social real estate I have to share the coming retrospective with you.
That said, I'm working on compiling a two part series entitled ATL HOE. Crazy name right? Not really... If it is, you just had to be there to understand lol. Note that ATL HOE is a work progress and will be evolving as I compile it in real time. The idea is barely 12 hours old so bear with me as I figure it out.
This body of work will be a peek into my last 10 years as a creative and working with a new medium capturing images that represent two (or more?) Atlantas... ATL pre and post pandemic. It's an ode to the formative parts of the city I love.

Something a little weird just happened. I was scrolling through my phone looking at old shoots and was randomly compelled to look at the original reel I shot of the Great American Eclipse. I saw the date on the reel, looked at today's, and quickly realized it was EXACTLY 2 years ago. EXACTLY. EXACTLY!
Out of curiosity I looked at the timestamp and it wasn't even a 10 min difference between when I shot this and when I pulled it up today. I'm a little weirded out by this but I'm not going to assign meaning to this. I'm just going enjoy the serendipity and re-upload a version that hasn't been compressed to oblivion. Been traveling a lil bit but I'm seeing this project through. Thanks for being patient with ya boy. Two random things... 1) I didn't realize how many of these neighborhoods have their own names lol. I didn't even know Home Park was a thing until today lol. I'm also impressed at my memory because I can remember exactly where I was standing for the most of these shots 2) vote... GEORGIA You're voting on your power bill and then some today. Public Commissioner doesn't sound like much but don't let the opportunity to correct this pass you buy. They also manage the impact of data centers popping up in people's backyards... Go vote!

10 years as a photog feels crazy. I was looking thru just my DragonCon pics and so many pictures came flooding back to me. So many good memories. If you have a sec please read my thoughts above.

run it up. // Just like that Dragon Con 2025 is done! I'm still recovering lol. Last year my focus shifted back to enjoying cons and not focusing on making content so I only brought my camera out Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
