The George Washington University Law School Black Law Students Association (BLSA) is pleased to announce the 46th Annual Patricia Roberts Harris Awards Banquet, which will be held on March 28th, 2026, at the JW Marriott in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Harris, a distinguished alumna of The George Washington University National Law Center (now The George Washington University Law School), achieved remarkable milestones in her career. After graduating at the top of her class in 1960, she became a dedicated public servant, earning numerous accolades and pioneering many firsts. Among her many achievements, she was the first African-American woman to serve as a United States Ambassador, a member of the United States Cabinet, and as Dean of an American law school (Howard University School of Law).
In the spirit of her incredible achievements, this banquet serves as an occasion to honor and recognize BLSA’s outstanding graduating students, alumni, and sponsors, as well as the law school’s dedicated faculty and staff. Building strong, enduring relationships with legal organizations across the District of Columbia is central to ensuring that students have opportunities to follow in Mrs. Harris’ path.
