The Guav goes to Boise! (Documentary 12.9-12.14 2025) We went to Boise last week to finish up our next album and then also record our next album after that! So much new music coming out from us soon (: We have been live tracking in this studio and writing like crazy ever since our last release, bringing old songs back to life, and creating such a new sound full of dancing, emotions, and musical expression, we feel the live setting is the best way to capture our sound so we track all at the same time in the same room. We’ve got around 20 new songs waiting to drop in the form of 2 albums (: Look forward to trumpets and saxophones and flutes, harmonies and solid instrumental work! We also started tuning to our gong (436 hrtz) to make the chords sound more resonant 🤟 This private studio we’ve been honored to work in is owned by a great friend of ours Andrew Masters. He’s a really kind and generous hard working man thats really inspiring and he’s also such an amazing engineer. He is cultivating a really cool community of fine musicians looking to make art in his space. Our long time friend Cameron Elgart from Crush The Monster stepped into the engineer this record for us in such an amazing comfortable and professional way. We as a band feel at home recording music in Logan at Whysound, the studio we own, but it’s also very special to travel somewhere and spend intentional time only working on a group project in a new environment, feels like a dream to go somewhere new and capture the energies and emotions of the time (: We feel so at home and supported in Boise and at this studio. this city is special and so is the music being made there❤️ We will be finishing up the record at home but it was a pleasure and an honor to make the trip out to be in community with good friends that believe in what we are doing 🤟 This video is also on our YouTube, link in bio Peace and love to the planet earth 🌎❤️- the guav

Meditating with the crowd ❤️ It’s important to take a minute and look around where you are at. This life moves by quickly and it’s easier to remember if you can learn to slow down for short moments of gratitude when you can. Here I’m leading the crowd in a quick 3-Fold breath practice, this is a deep breath exercise I use before I settle into a meditative state and ease into my posture. Its calming, helps me tune in and ground in my body, to find strength and safety within in quiet moments, and to create space for intention and appreciation. It’s also good at our shows sometime after the first song or two. It builds judgement free connection in the crowd and gives everyone a break in thought, a moment of collective peace in the midst of chaos and powerful loud speakers. A solid reminder to check in and soak the current vibes in as a sponge as time floats by like rhythm. It’s a moment to smile and breathe together, and it’s always special and needed. It also makes it clear that as a band our main goal is to unify our community through our music. Guava Tree shows aren’t about making artists look cool, they are about a greater connection and self discovery through music and dance, self expression, and celebration of culture. A place we aim for every one to be welcomed with love, peace, acceptance, and freedom through music. It’s a place to set aside our differences and jump up and down with our neighbors. We are honored to share the stage with the amazing @brazucaband and @serch_gilmour Here’s some info about these amazing performers: The Brazuca Band is an Utah-based musical group led by Brazilian native Diego Campos. “Brazilian music made in Utah” known for blending Brazilian rhythms with American rock, reggae, funk, and jazz. They deliver high-energy, festive performances featuring a mix of Portuguese, Spanish, and English, designed to bring authentic Brazilian culture to the U.S. mountain region! Shout out to @davemontrose and @saxmastersteven that perform in this group, they collaborate and unify lots of musicians in the scene with class! Give them a follow if you respect top tier musicianship! This show will also feature my good friend Sergio! Sergio Frias is a Mexican classical guitarist and educator. He graduated from the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico and has established himself as a prominent performer and instructor of classical guitar, performing extensively in Mexico, the United States, and Latin America. He is hands down the best classical guitar player I know, he’s such a humble soul and really fun to make music with! Come early to witness a special classical guitar performance that’ll bring you to tears! ❤️🇨🇴🇧🇷🇲🇽❤️ This kind of lineup is pretty rare for Utah’s music scene and @whysoundrecords is proud to host this show! As a Colombian frontman in the midst of the Utah American Rock industry, I find that exploring Latin rhythms, having lots of well executed percussion, and even the way I comp on my guitar to fuse genres is how I reach to connect with my roots and also nudge some sonic diversity into this era of Utah music (: Basically I’m really excited about this show and y’all gotta come out and get down for this one!! Ladies and Gents I give you Dan Fields on the mallets and Caleb Hays on the brushes! This spooky solo section really takes me places, it’s important that when someone is expressing music in a solo format that the rest of the band backs off to lay a nice spotlight on the soloist, tracen and I roll off our tone and bring in swells as Dan and Caleb play and paint pictures with the rhythms back and forth, gives me imagery of water dripping into a pool in a dark but spacious and glowing cave underground, Caleb takes it to straight to a New York jazz club with the brush work and initially signals a dance party at the end, god I love making music with these guys ❤️- Mowgs

BOISE WE LOVE YOU❤️ROCK N ROLL FOREVER🤘 @treefortfest this year was the best treefort yet! 540 Bands 54 Venues, all unified, working as a team, not competing but collaborating together for a whole week! Such a beautiful and inspiring scene, we met so many new bands and got to catch up and spend quality time with a lot of our friends and also got to show off what we’ve been recording @hinge_studio in Boise!! Community is stronger, more fruitful and just so much better when a community collaborates together and supports one another! I encourage yall to go support other bands, check out venues you haven’t been too, show up early for the openers, buy that presale and promote for your friends, invite the homies out to see your friends thrive on stage, buy a cd and shirt at a local show and become a true part of the growth and epic journey of your local music scene!
