Proven at @transcordilleras 👑 The new GVR is what @gtsulli used to crush 8 stages of the toughest terrain in the Colombian Andes, landing him in 7th overall with a podium on Etapa 8! Put it to the test? Yeah, we did that. Now it’s your turn 🔗 Link in bio to see the GVR. #ObedAnywhere

Today is is the day! The cat is out of the bag and the new GVR is available to order! From riding a prototype GVR at Unbound XL in 2021 to taking the new GVR to Colombia for @transcordilleras , I’m so happy to be a part of this team. It takes so much from each individual to make something that induces such big grins. From testing & feedback to straight up demands, this bike is what I have been wanting! 2.2” tires, sick paint schemes, responsive handling and a price point that others will struggle to beat. Hit up the @obed.bikes sales team, tell them I sent ya! #obedanywhere 📸 @oddreeeee

The descent into South Pittsburg, TN is one of my favorites. Especially when I’m chasing @bigaubreezy . Tight twists at the top lead to slightly banked straights and a very quick affair as we drop 1,000ft in 2 miles (~9.5%). I love this time of year. Trees still bare leaving plenty of sight through corners. Warm sun dropping mesmerizing shadows across the road. And a bit of new form arriving after @transcordilleras . #obedbikes RVR is the perfect weapon for this. #blessed #eattrashridefast #gasstationfoodcyclist

Distinctly not his first rodeo, @gtsulli took a different approach to the hardest gravel stage race there is — @transcordilleras . Eight days across the Colombian Andes. Mud, chaos, climbs, and connection. Leaning into a simple idea: Fun is Fast. 4 days of fun, followed by 4 days of....well, you get it. When the final stage unfolded, he found himself exactly where he needed to be… 3rd on the day. Not forcing it. Just sending it. The pace brought the party. Full throttle is a hand signal understood around the cycling world! Finally feeling some power in the legs after a brutal @transcordilleras …. Couple efforts up Nutibara and then caught some hot laps with @jcamilo__a & Juanse. I thought we’d play nice and just smash a steady pace, but homies had a couple sprints in em. Next time I’ll swap the tires for something more sensible, 2.2’s on the #GVR just ain’t right for @aeroparquejuanpabloii sprints. #obedbikes #colombia #gravelbike obedanywhere

@transcordilleras Stage 5 Pacho->Ubaté. 54mi, 8,200ft in 4.5 hours. This is what I thought would be the hardest stage for me. A 5,000ft climb to start and ~30 miles above 10,000ft of elevation. Breathing was my one and only focus. Once we got off the climb and onto the dirt, ooouuuwwweeee I felt like pushing the pedals. Rolling terrain, some bits of tech and big views had me excited to start racing. Up to this point, I kept telling myself I was here as a tourist. No need to chase or push hard, but instead keep even pressure on the pedals and focus on the basics- eat, drink, deep breaths and protecting my bike/tires. We hit the high roads and I couldn’t help but surge. Rolling with @cheset and @marcostalder_ across the paramo was a joy. Eventually we caught up the abuelo of gravel- @laurens_ten_dam and ended the day with a scary, loose and fast descent that still felt somewhat in control. Boy can these dudes rip a descent. Following the stage @twanaltorf led me on a dead end mission for food in the square… we ended up descending back down to find food. Post race hangout had us in the square again, playing with camera angles laughing and eating some dessert described as a “fruit typical”. 🤣 📸: @oddreeeee @pipecano_photo

Stage 4 @transcordilleras “The Queen Stage” which means we climb climb climb. La Dorada->Pacho. 82 miles, 12,000ft of vert in 6.5 hours. It was all about pacing for me, this day was the crux in my mind. Go too deep and the following days will crush me. Luckily found myself in a well paced group, more pavement than I expected and a bit of a social pace as we rolled along the Rio Negro- and yes it was a very black stained river along with plenty of black mud splatter on the legs. Approaching the final miles I was wondering how we would gain the last 1,000 feet… and then we turned off beautiful pavement onto a bit of very steep singletrack. Thanks to @paramo_cycling for the awesome balance video, always suprised what the body can do if you just believe you can ride a “hike-a-bike” 📸: @pipecano_photo & @oddreeeee

That’s all she wrote 🇨🇴 @gtsulli wrapped @transcordilleras with a 3rd place spot on the podium for Stage 8, putting him in 7th overall in the GC. An unreal week that doesn’t stop here — so many stories and experiences coming straight from the man himself soon! Congrats, Austin 🫡 Doing us proud over here! 📸 @oddreeeee #ObedAnywhere #Transcordilleras

@transcordilleras stage 3 was another for the books! My goodness this Colombia thing is amazing. Damn that was so fun, steam rolling around over & through big puddles. Lots of stream crossing, 3 of which I walked though. While skipping a puddle on a mud line, front wheel dug in and I went otb, pretty much running off the bike. All good. Nice little climb with some steep and relaxed pitches. I was with 6 others on the pavement, after the last climb the pavement got a little bit bumpy. I looked back after one small descent, saw I had a 15 second gap with no one in pursuit. Held the throttle at 200 watts and the gap grew 😬. Stayed away which was great because the town traffic would have made for a sketchy sprint. Anthony came in less than a minute after. Amazing day. Need new brake pads tho, lucky I packed em.

Stage 2 of Transcordilleras was everything gravel riding should be. 14k feet of descending, 7k ft of climbing, rough, loose, rain, mud ooouuuffff. We started out on some slowly drying pavement which had me a bit cautious after a small tire slide the day before. Managed to stick with the second group on the road as we entered some dirt sections. I knew it was only a matter of time, but I looked down and the 360 cam mount had broken and ugh… I flipped it, found it after a few moments of searching the road. Caught back up to some of the others and absolutely ripped a nearly 30 min descent. Amazing views of lush mountains peppered with big fluffy clouds. A couple moments had me repeating to myself- stay right here. These descents demand every bit of focus and concentration. I resupplied in Garza, two Coke a colas and 4 bocadillos. 11km climb that oddly had some big mud sections. Luckily just a soupy mess and not peanut butter cement. Chain didn’t like it so much, sorry about that @therealtooger . Another rough descent led to 15kms of pavement where I could just see a group ahead by a minute. I held steady, knowing we had more gravel and that it would suit me in a chase. I caught them with around 15km to go. Couple cramps began to form, but I managed to keep them at bay. After a detour due to construction, i saw an opportunity to separate myself from the group, a bus passed and I jumped into the draft and got away for the last kilometer. Rolled in 13th on the day, 12th if we don’t count the ebike ahead of me lol. On to La Dorada for stage 3!

@transcordilleras kicked off today with a bang! Mostly straight forward after a neutral rollout. Focus of the day- try to keep the HR down, breathe constantly, protect the bike and rip the descents when I can. Oh and eat bocadillos nonstop. It’s difficult having a racing brain and trying to turn it off. I don’t need to stay on the wheel, or drive the pace. Just watch the numbers on my @garmin and keep it under control. Today’s route had some familiarity, we finished in Guatapé during the queen stage 2 years ago. Mañana and the following days is all new. Looking at some high temps, ~14k feet of descending and possibility of show-stopping mud 😬
