There’s no DEBATE 🗣️🎤 our favorite GIRL WHO CODES 👾 has always S(E)LAIN 🗡️ her competition🥇. From CALCULATING 📐 her every move in SPEECH to FBLA 🏆💬, we can see in P(E)LAIN SITE 👁️💻 how hard this national champion works 📚🌟. Though her domestic flight 🌥️🧭 won’t earn her a passport STAMP 🛄🎟️, there’s no compE-LAINE-ing 😉… she already has plenty from SCALING🤓📈 internationally with @young.coders.sphere 🌐 (and @gatechstamps too 🐝). So incredibly proud that our COO, @iameshavenkat , was chosen to represent the @georgiatech Class of 2026 as the student commencement speaker at the @ivanallencollege and @gtcomputing Graduation Ceremony! Walking into that ceremony as part of the processional alongside President @cabreraangel and distinguished institutional leadership, faculty, and staff to join them on stage was a moment we will never forget. Graduating in just three years with highest honors, a B.S. in Public Policy, and a minor in Global Development, Esha’s academic journey has been grounded in exploring the intersection of systems and people. Her work reflects a deep understanding that the stories we tell about who belongs in certain rooms matter enormously. It has been many years since a @sppgatech student from the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts has stood at this podium. Esha’s presence on this stage serves as a powerful reminder that Georgia Tech’s commitment to Progress and Service belongs to every discipline, every perspective, and every student who has called themselves a Yellow Jacket. Cameras monitor movements, sensors need batteries, and smart devices are typically linked through disjointed systems that require ongoing upkeep. Yibo Fu, a @georgiatech researcher at Tech Square (@uncommonsenselabs , @gtcomputing ), is investigating a new approach where ordinary objects can discreetly indicate their usage via precisely crafted steel tags. Together with his team, Fu has introduced SoundOff, an innovative smart home system that employs acoustics and ultrasonic signals inaudible to humans but detectable by microphones. “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” I started my Georgia Tech journey as a bright-eyed kid in elementary school, attending coding workshops and dreaming of one day walking across that stage with a Computer Science degree.
