Our SKers are officially published authors! Students collaborated to write and illustrate their own class book based on a theme selected by SK teachers. As part of the book publishing party, SKers walked down a red carpet and celebrated their efforts with a little reception for parents!

Our fifth graders got a glimpse of life in the business world during their recent day at JA BizTown, and this year, we even got to run City Hall! Students put their critical thinking skills to work and experienced a variety of business roles at AutoZone, Baptist, Regions Bank, FedEx, TVA, and much more—it was a great learning experience for everyone. Our final Celebration Chapel was packed with so much fun on Friday! We started by singing Happy Birthday to EVERYONE who will have a birthday from now until the first day of school in August! 🥳We bestowed Latin, Spanish, and AR awards on deserving and hard-working students. We honored beloved Middle School faculty members Ellen Hendry and Lyn Forsyth, who retire this year, and recognized our 10-, 20-, and 30-year service awardees. We announced Preschool and Lower School Spanish Teacher Carmen Navarro as the recipient of the school’s prestigious Lorena Webber Walker Award! And finally, we concluded with the incredible 8th grade talent show, which featured performances by Mila, Miles, Sebi, and Lilly. So proud of all of these Saints! #lukersforlife

Last Friday the Parents' Association launched GSL's first women's tennis tournament—Saints Slam—presented by Raymond James. What a perfect day for this inaugural event! We are so grateful to our outstanding Saints Slam Chairs, Elizabeth Warren and Lindsey Myers, who created a wonderful experience at Leftwich Tennis Center.

What a fun Faculty/Staff Appreciation week we've had — from custom coffee to a snack cart service delivering treats to classrooms, this week was the best! ☕️🍫 Our faculty and staff are the heart and soul of this school, and we loved getting the chance to celebrate and recognize them for all they do to make GSL special!
Thank you to GSL and the Parents' Association for partnering together to bring in @bywaycoffee.co , and thank you to all who donated treats for the snack cart — it was a HUGE hit!

We concluded the 2025-26 Eighth Grade Chapel Talks series this morning with outstanding speeches by Cameron and Paul! Cameron offered fourth graders—our Lower School leaders—some advice especially for them. He shared that having a positive attitude, working hard, and using critical thinking skills were the keys to creating a remarkable and successful Middle School experience. Paul spoke about how the Formative Five traits contribute to leadership, and shared that great leaders have the courage to ask for help, the ability to persevere, and the desire and willingness to inspire and mentor others. Important messages for all of us! Our eighth graders have done an amazing job expressing themselves through this capstone project—we are so proud of them all! ❤️ #GSLClassof2026 #lukersforlife
