In 2023, I figured two of Nigeria's biggest artists would be having their homecoming in my state. All I knew was that I wanted to be part of making history in my state by late 2023. However, I was based in Lagos, running some events with
@bounce.networks . One day, I randomly texted my now-boss,
@engracedboss , about being part of the production. He replied, asking when I was coming to Benin. I told him, and he set up a meeting with him. In my mind, I wasn’t sure about getting it, but after our meeting, to my surprise, he gave me a chance—no small one. He gave me the privilege of leading the technical team (as technical director), for which I’m entirely grateful and which has significantly put my career on exponential grounds .
Although the other artist canceled, I was still unsure how I would get in. Fast forward to May 2024, I found out he was coming back, and I wanted to be part of it again, but I was still unsure. One day, while on Instagram, I randomly found another boss,
@sijiewedemi , saying he was in Benin. I decided to shoot my shot again, not expecting much, but to my surprise, he asked me to join the team. I don’t know how it happened, but the next thing I knew, I was in Benin, joining the production. I was able to work as technical support/operations for Rema's production, and I’m forever grateful for the opportunity
@sijiewedemi gave me.
Moral lesson🌚: It may not always make sense, but just keep pushing and reaching out. One day, you’ll look back and smile.
I’m forever grateful to every single individual who has ever given me an opportunity, including those I aced and those I...👀 I guess this is a toast to doing more. We will all meet at the front line.
