April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month, and I want to talk about what that really means.
Every year, 90,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. That’s 90,000 people who get a phone call that changes everything. 90,000 families trying to figure out what comes next. And countless caregivers and partners who carry this fight right alongside them.
Three years ago, I became one of those 90,000 when I was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s at 48. I spent nearly a year wondering if my life was over.
It wasn’t over. But it changed. And now I race for more than finish lines. I race for a cure, for everyone navigating this journey, and for the families who need to see that hope is still possible.
That’s why I started Forward Motion Fund with my wife Maryann and our boys. We support Parkinson’s research, caregivers and partners, and challenged athletes who refuse to let a diagnosis define their limits.
This month, I’m asking you to join this fight. Your donation, no matter the size, funds research that moves us closer to a cure and supports the people living with Parkinson’s right now. Link in bio to donate to Forward Motion Fund.
One more step. Just one more. Let’s take it together.

Most athletes log the miles and wonder why they’re plateauing. Here are the 3 things I added to my Ironman training that changed everything:
1. Strength Training
Not just lifting to lift. Building the posterior chain, single leg stability, and injury-proofing the joints that take the most abuse over 140.6 miles. The athletes who skip the gym are the ones who fall apart on the run.
2. Cold Plunge + Sauna Routine
Recovery is training. Cold exposure reduces inflammation and keeps the body ready to go session after session. The sauna builds heat tolerance and cardiovascular efficiency. Do both consistently and your body adapts faster than the athletes only focused on volume.
3. Technique Work
Fitness only takes you so far. Sloppy swim stroke, inefficient bike position, and broken run form will cost you more time than any extra training block ever saves. Dialing in mechanics means every mile takes less out of you.
Train smarter, not just harder. Save this if you’re building toward your first or next Ironman.

This season I stopped overcomplicating things.
Fueling used to feel like a science experiment. Now it’s simple, repeatable, and it works.
Never Second for fuel. Caffeinated when I need it, non-caffeinated when I don’t. Bars on hand for when hunger hits mid-session.
Hydration got easier too. Precision tablets, drop them in water and go. No mess, no guessing, no extra stress when traveling.
When you’re training at a high level, the goal isn’t more. It’s better and simpler.
Dial it in. Then trust it.

Back in the rhythm and building toward Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga. After a couple weeks off following Boston Marathon training, today’s session was all about controlled effort and race-specific work using the Lever.
5 min Z1 warmup (75%)
6 x 3 min at race pace w/ 2 min recovery
6 x 3 min descending to 8:30 pace w/ 2 min easy at 10:00 pace
5 min cool down
Focused. Consistent. Ready to build again. 💪🏊🚴🏃

Every bike has a purpose. Every ride tells a different story.
My rotation as an endurance athlete:
Custom Cervélo P5 – built for speed and race day execution
Dogma X – long miles, smooth and steady
Moots – where grit meets simplicity
Spark MTB – getting uncomfortable and staying sharp
Different tools. Same mindset. Keep moving forward.

My story on wheels✨
From a bare bike to a full-blown vision, every detail, sketch, late-night idea, and custom touch brought this machine to life.
This bike carries art, resilience, and history. From the planning table to the final reveal, this one was built, not bought.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this project happen. To the artist, the builders, and everyone behind the scenes, this vision would not have come to life without you 🙏🏽
Now I need your help 👀
Drop the funniest / coolest name for the bike in the comments ⬇️

The artist vs. the art.
Grateful to have had @rosannakalis bring this vision to life on my custom Cervélo P5. Every detail tells a story, every line has intention.
More than a bike. It’s a reflection of the journey.

Race day isn’t just about training. It’s about being prepared for anything.
Weather can change everything, so I plan for it.
Light tank for the heat. T-shirt if it cools down. Long sleeve if it’s a cold start. Armbands to adjust on the fly. Spandex shorts to eliminate friction. Calf sleeves for warmth. Hats to match the kit and keep the focus locked in.
Every piece has a purpose. No guesswork on race morning.
That’s how you stay ready.
