January 26th marks the anniversary of the day I began a kind of rebirth. Over time, my actual birthday has lost some of its magic, but January 26th has become a deeply precious date in its own right. Two years sober. Today, it is no longer a struggle, it is my identity. I have made this lifestyle my own. One thing is certain, I wouldn’t go back for anything in the world. These last two years certainly haven’t been smooth sailing… After twelve years of emotions that were numbed and tangled up with substance use, I realize the sheer magnitude of the work I’ve done. I am proud to have broken this cycle without waiting any longer. During this time, I’ve gotten to know myself like never before. We had to reopen poorly healed wounds to try and close them again with almost surgical precision. A job that is still ongoing, by the way. Week after week, I realize that two lifetimes probably wouldn’t be enough to tame all the mysteries of my own mind. I have fallen in love with this quest for clarity. It is a painful journey, to be sure, but one of incredible satisfaction. I know the years to come will be just as formative, and I can’t wait to see what life has in store for me. I encourage anyone suffering in silence to take that step and ask for help. It is truly worth the fight. Sim

🎂GRYKAR’s first anniversary 🎂 Today marks one year of GRYKAR and I can’t believe how fast time has flown. Every single day since the beginning has been a journey that continues to blow my mind. I’m beyond grateful for each and every one of you who have supported this project. Words honestly can’t express how much it means to me. 🥹❤️ I wasn’t exactly sure which date to officially mark the start of GRYKAR, it came to life so naturally, like it was just meant to be. But I chose June 21st because it’s the day I completed my therapy, one year ago. That moment changed everything for me… and it’s where GRYKAR truly began. Over the past year, the number of days I haven’t spent at least a bit of time learning more about music production is close to zero. I am truly grateful for my mentor @droziofficial , for all the help he’s given me and the support he’s still giving me. He is without doubt one of the most skilled teacher i’ve had the chance to meet. Here’s what the first year looked like: • 3 original singles • 4 collaborations (released — and plenty more in the vault 👀) • 4 remixes •. Signed 3 record label releases (unreleased) • 5 shows (Quebec(2), Montreal, Calgary, Shawinigan) • 3 downloads from the bosses @excision (2) and @subtronics (1) • 130 000 streams on Soundcloud • 1250 followers on Soundcloud and 2350 on Instagram • Countless hours of learning through mentorship, private lessons, Youtube videos and masterclass • Countless new connections and friendships Those stats blow my mind! Happy New Year 🥳 2025… I’ll be honest, I almost didn’t post a « recap ». I’m my own harshest critic, and at first glance, l wasn’t satisfied with the year. But taking a step back, I realized this was actually a massive foundational year. It was the first full year of the GRYKAR project. Behind the heavy bass, there is a sensitive human working tirelessly to become a better version of himself. Deep inner work has consequences. It made 2025 emotionally challenging at times. But I don’t regret a single decision. I know for a fact this is all part of the process, even when it gets difficult. Letting life guide me has led to places I never thought possible. From playing in Calgary to training under the mentorship of @droziofficial . « Little Simon » would hardly believe this is his life right now. Musically, what you’ve heard so far is not what i want you to picture of GRYKAR. I’m slowly but surely locking in the sound i am looking for, and we are getting closer every day. 2026 will be devoted to stepping up my production game and evolving the brand. I can’t wait to share the results of this hard work. I want a say thank you to all my friends and family, all the people who are listening to my music and supporting me in any way.
