We knew one thing making this film: nearly everyone that saw it would want to adopt a more “non-toxic” lifestyle. But…that’s not always easy or straightforward. Because plastic and chemicals hide literally everywhere, and the marketplace is FULL of greenwashing. Also, many “non toxic” or “all natural” products simply don’t work AS well as their more toxic counterparts. So, what brands or kinds of products can you trust? What products do you know will actually get the job done? Our team found it was REALLY hard to answer that question. But we wanted to anyways. We wanted to give people a trusted place where they could go to find products that prioritize their health and work well. So Louie Psihoyos, the co-director of “The Plastic Detox” partnered with @grovecollaborative collaborative to offer the public a one stop shop for clean products. Everything from body lotion to cooking pots to glass baby bottles and diapers. He personally vetted AND tried out every product to make sure it was a great product. (Okay maybe he didn’t try on the diaper himself but you get the gist) If you see a deodorant in our shop…that means he tried out 30 other “all natural” deodorants, but only a select few worked super well. Additionally, all products in “The Unplastic Shop” get 4.5 or higher reviews online. Not only are these products incredible, we found that each brand in our shop shared the same goal we did: they wanted to make the world a better place, with products that don’t harm humans, animals, OR our planet. You will see many of the brands are small, more Mom and Pop. Every founder has an amazing story, one that resonated with our global mission. Our 2025 Sustainability Report is live 💚 And while there’s still so much work ahead, we’re proud of the progress we made together this year. In 2025, we reduced our plastic footprint by 22%—cutting over 400,000 pounds of plastic—and expanded Grove’s ingredient standards to ban and restrict 10,000+ ingredients as we continue pushing for healthier homes and a healthier planet.
