Yesterday I had the pleasure of hosting the very first session of Dayz on the Mic 🎤☀️ at @decorazoncoffee , and it was such a beautiful time! We had a good mix of musicians and poets come out to showcase their talent--even a couple of them didn't plan on performing until they saw the others, then got inspired to get on the mic to really awe us! I truly feel yesterday had an amazing energy of love, fun and support for our creatives. To be able to put on an event that brings people together that fuels people's passions and authenticity is an opportunity I am always grateful for. 💖 Thank you to all the performers and everyone else who came out yesterday, whether with the intention of watching the show or because you simply walked by and got excited to be a part of something new. I'm super excited to announce our very first set of Sound & Out: a Live Concert Series, featuring two very awesome local punk bands-- Hector Penalosa Gang and Toothless George & His One-Man Band!🎸🥁🤘🤘 They'll be performing at our favorite outdoor cafe, @decorazoncoffee , with curated displays of original artworks and vintage oddities by some of the band members: Hector Penalosa, George Sugzdinis & Matt “Maciek” Mielczarek (AKA Czar). In addition to the energetic live performances and unique artistry, we will have a tarot reader, food, drinks and more to explore (TBD). So bring some friends, support local creatives and businesses, and have some good ol' fashioned fun with fellow music and art lovers. From now on, they will be held on Sundays starting from 11AM-2PM at my fave outdoor coffee bar☕️-- @decorazoncoffee with support from our lovely friend and local DJ/ fellow event connoisseur @groundvinyl 🎶 We are now asking for a suggested donation of $5 from everyone; however, we are still keeping it sliding scale, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds! 💕 These donations are simply to help support us for various supplies and the hosts for graciously lending their space and equipment. In addition to the very delicious drink menu by DeCorazon Coffee, we will have other fun complimentary beverages 🥂 (21+ ID check) and food available to purchase for your enjoyment. We may even have some local artists or other small businesses to check out while you're here 😏 (Vendors are TBD).
