Oh, and we snuck in new upholstery and a clever new table design that makes accessing the dinette seating easier than ever!
When a fast-moving company hits a production constraint, the answer shouldn’t be a six-week overseas lead time.
@groundedrvs was one of the first companies to join Newlab in Detroit when we launched with @michigancentraldetroit . In the years since, they’ve scaled from early camper van prototypes into electric specialty vehicles serving medical, trades, and food and beverage markets. Most recently, they’ve been developing a fleet of mobile dental vans in partnership with @colgateus .
This project required a redesigned vehicle platform with precision-machined custom components beyond the scope of their in-house machining capabilities in their Detroit workspace. Overseas manufacturing could not meet the delivery deadline.
So Grounded connected with Newlab’s Product Realization team for support. The outcome: the team produced the custom components in under two days, helping Grounded complete their build and deliver the fleet to Colgate on schedule.

The two mobile technology labs we built for @nokia are about to hit the road. The brief was to build something their team could use to test and demo new telecom equipment out in the field, while also using the van as a marketing tool to show off what they're working on.
So we did that, and then some. Dual large screens, a full-length desk with proper office chairs bolted to the floor, extra seating for guests, and a ton of connectivity hookups for all their equipment. The part I love most - huge window openings along the side so people on the street can literally stop and watch live demos happening inside.
JUST MARRIED ☘️🍾💍 @i.am.giakim and @zachthearcher had a 100% kiss conversion rate at the Corktown St. Patty’s Day Parade - every single block. We rolled the electric G3 down Michigan Ave front and center as a parade float. Best test drive after. ☘️🍾💍
Red pill or blue pill? Either way you end up inside a @nokia demo lab.
The color scheme pulls from Nokia's brand, red and blue run through everything from the exterior logos to the interior wrap and upholstery details. It looks great, but none of it's just cosmetic. Every inch of the interior is designed around functionality - the screens, the desk layout, the chair placement, the equipment mounting - it all exists because their engineers and demo teams need it to work a certain way.
Form follows function. We just made sure the function looked great too.
We showed you how IDIA use their G2 and G3 at events around Arizona, but we realized we never actually showed you the finished G3 office we built for them!
This was one of the first G3 builds to feature our natural wall material, LED ceiling strips, and new module frame technique. The result is a clean, functional office with comfortable booth seating, stable bar stools and desk space, and plenty of storage for all the devices IDIA use to teach and demo out in the field.

Nothing makes us happier than seeing our customers put their vehicles to work exactly as we intended - whether that's G3 RV owners sending us camping photos from the wilderness, mobile healthcare vans bringing critical care to underserved communities, or in this case, IDIA's mobile offices showing up where it matters most.

This van was a true labor of love for our team, but love alone doesn’t pass health inspections. We obsessed over the engineering just as much as the aesthetics.
It’s built to operate anywhere, fully up to code, with 35-gallon fresh water capacity, four sinks, commercial refrigeration, a dedicated ice box, glass rinser, and a clean side-mounted pastry display. Everything a next-gen mobile café needs.
And then there’s what you don’t see. Under the shell sits a 25kWh all-electric LiFePO battery system delivering 120V at 8kVA and 230V at 10kVA - plenty of clean, stable power to keep the La Marzocco running exactly how it should!
All of it packaged tightly and intentionally, so the @coffeefellows_usa team can slip their all-electric Zevo 400 into crowded markets and busy events with confidence.

The two flip-up windows lift and suddenly the sidewalk feels like a café. Inside, a La Marzocco hums away, pulling espresso shot after espresso shot while the glass display along the side shows off fresh pastries to keep you fueled for the day ahead. People gather, cups in hand, the smell of espresso in the air, everyone getting exactly what they need to start the day right.
