22dB more sensitivity at 100Hz. There's more high-frequency extension, too. Note these aren't calibrated measurements, so we're only really looking at the before/after comparison to see if there are improvements.

First up, it's good to take a measurement to see where we're at before starting. I use a Bose MusicMonitor for this, but other speakers are available. Its important that the test speaker covers a wide frequency range from a fairly small source.
As we can see from the graph, the mic falls off quickly below 400Hz.

Today's project is a vintage AKG D12. The fault is that it's lacking in bass, which is a fairly difficult (but not impossible) fix.

Really cool seminar with @rapha89raw - The Stormzy Mix at PLASA Leeds. Fantastic insight into his workflow, and even with all the plugins bypassed, it was still an excellent-sounding mix - the sign of a true engineer.
