The Ridge
Tas oak lining boards bring this architectural insulated panel roof to a whole new level!
Pair that with the @grimesandsons controlled erosion coating and this will look incredible for years while being much lower maintenance than most external timber work!
These details were developed for a portion of a new house containing the formal living room, study, and master bedroom suite. They contrast the rest of the houses decor finished in a more robust design with cement rendered walls and concrete.
The details were developed by our office in close collaboration with the builders carpentry team, and constructed in their workshop before being installed on site.
Thank you to our Associate Director Phoenix wang who presided over the project with its many custom details and to our clients who were so instrumental in the success of this project

Prom Country Healing Centre in Fish Creek sits easily on the bank of a lake, clad with Southern Bluegum shiplap from agroforestry near Korumburra. The cladding is coated with @grimesandsons controlled erosion stain to protect against the elements

Designers tip of the day!
☀️Don’t underestimate what natural light can do for your space. Light that moves and shadows that dance are one of mother nature’s gifts!
☀️The same amount of planning and awareness should be devoted to all light sources, natural and your beautiful light fixtures💡
☀️Natural light begins with your orientation. This stunning display was caught in the morning as the eastern golden light danced through the space.
Need help with your light sources to highlight your space and don’t know where to start. I’ve got some ideas 💡🤗

Our practice often designs custom pieces to complement the interiors of our projects. This free standing bar was created along with a custom dining table for our Shakespeare Residence that had been included in EST living’s feature on residential bar units.
The unit was made by hand from solid timber using traditional woodworking tools by a team of local artisans. The unit has carved doors with inlaid patterns referencing northern African wood working techniques.
Thank you to all involved in making this idea a reality.

Working closely with the tradespeople on our projects often leads to interesting results, as seen here with the construction process for a custom dining table for one of our projects.
The table was made from patinated brass plate set on a structure of faceted solid timber.
Thank you to the team from Amore Made and Melbourne Grown Timber who were responsible for the construction of this beautiful custom furniture piece. It’s always humbling seeing our designs come to life under the hands of these artisans.
