Smash smash smash! Is an archival project which focuses on the restriction’s and unequal treatment that women faced throughout the first and second wave of feminism. This publication is the main focal point of the archive, which brings attention to how femenists campaigned using direct action and different forms of protest in the fight for equal rights and social justice for women. The publication includes an interview with my nan, giving an insight into what it was like to be a woman during the second wave, showing her own viewpoint into what life was like in this period.

A couple of pages from my publication ‘Shinrin-Yoku - finding mindfulness through the practice of forest bathing’
The publication was my response to the ISTD 2024 ‘joybringer’ brief, which sheds light onto the ancient Japanese practice of meditation, Shinrin-Yoku. The publication aims to inspire, encourage, and teach others how they can seek joyfulness and benefit through learning and taking part in the practice.
‘Future afloat’
Future afloat is a response to the RSA 2024 design brief ‘flourishing places’. The brief focuses on reimagining our built environment through the means of regenerative design, to enable all life to flourish in the future for our next generation.
In collaboration with @tbl.designs we proposed the strategy of a completely net-zero future, eliminating all carbon emissions in city centres by the use of bio-fuelled transportation systems only. Proposed through means of design, we created a website, typeface, a series of riso printed posters and a research document campaigning this strategy. This project was submitted to the RSA design awards 2024.
2 x A1 posters printed using traditional letterpress printing techniques
Posters are part of an archival project which explores how first & second wave feminists fought for equal rights through the form of protest and direct action. Featuring one quote from my nan, and one from famous Second wave feminist Betty Friedan.
